It was a long cherished desire of Fr Joseph Pathalil in 1967, who was the parish priest of Ambapara to start a secondary school in Bhandaria since the diocese did not have a secondary school anywhere in the district of Banswara. But at the same time he started a hostel for the boys so that it becomes easy for them to attend the school at Kushalgarh. Gradually this hostel turned out to be a mission station taking care of the Catholics of the locality. In 1988 a primary school was opened which proved to be a great success gaining appreciation from all around. Today the school has developed itself into a Senior Secondary School. Besides this school there is a beautiful church in Bhandaria and another English Medium School. Prabhudasi Sisters of Ajmer and Fransciscan Sisters of The Presentation of Mary are helping Prest in charge and his companions priests in activities of the parish, school and the hostel.
