In the beginning of the mission the IMS Fathers were given the charge to take care of the parish. Fr Vasant IMS worked here for two years and the mission was taken over by the diocese. Fr William D’Souza was appointed parish priest of the place. Initially the school was in a rented building at the outskirts of the city. He was succeeded by Fr George KK who built up a school and a church in Kankroly. Sisters of Jesus and Mary helped the parish and the school for two years and they were replaced by the Franciscan Clarist Sisters.
