Rishabhdev which is also popularly known as Rakhabdev and Kesariyaji, is famous for its popular Jain temple and the small muslim shrine in the temple complex. This temple was used to be visited by people from Rajasthan and Gujarat including the Bhils. In 1964 when Fr Igantius OFM Cap. was in Dungarpur he explored this area and started staying in a rented house very close to the temple. But due to so many factors he had to shift himself to a land which he bought just at the outskirts of the city. Later Fr Bruno D’Souza succeeded Fr Ignatius and built up the mission. Today Rishabhdev has a beautiful church, a school attached with hostel facility to both boys and girls and a dispensary. The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate (Nirmala Sisters) render their services to the mission.
